Wool Greases

Wool greases is a wax-like substance that is excreted from the sebaceous glands of sheep and which adds a protective layer to wool fibres. It is reclaimed from the water used to wash shorn wool.

In cosmetics, wool greases and its derivatives are primarily used as lipid-replenishing ingredients with a high water-absorption capacity. They are therefore used in nourishing creams, lipid creams, hand creams and night creams, lipsticks, shampoos, etc. We also offer pharmaceutical qualities, which undergo an additional high-vacuum distillation process in order to meet our customers’ highest standards.
